Functional English refers to phrases and expressions that we use to have conversation in everyday English. This can be very helpful for learners who want to travel to an English-speaking country, or those wanting to learn how English speakers interact and to practice doing the same.  This is the type of English I encourage my students to learn, and this is the format of our lessons together.  So, whether you want to learn how to say, ‘thank you’ to someone, or ‘talk about the weather’, we can practice doing that together, using everyday language that speakers use.  Here are just a few topics for using Functional English, but there are so many.
