Teaching ESL doesn’t make me an expert on the subject. I’ve only been teaching ESL for two years but I have gained a wealth of knowledge through conversation and interaction with people from all over the world. One of the reasons I became an ESL instructor is because I wanted to experience culture and diversity. And I consider myself to be truly blessed to have been given this wonderful opportunity to impart my own knowledge while learning from others.
I’m always looking for ways to improve the way I practice English with my students. I want them to feel comfortable and have fun with the lessons at the same time. Many of my students enjoy free talk, because it helps them to practice and improve their spoken English. Having free talk allows participants to gain confidence and learn practical conversational skills. So, I encourage this as often as possible, which leads me to an exciting announcement, and that is….I just created a discussion forum on the site, where people can join in the conversation on different topics. I hope that this will encourage English language learners to interact with one another and to feel confident in doing so.
Please join in the conversation today! I look forward to speaking with you there!
